North East Essex Adult Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Diagnostic Service
Summary
We are a team providing Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) support for adults in north east Essex who have been referred to the service by their GP.
Service Information
Our team is made up of specialist psychologists with training and knowledge of ASD.
How the team can help
We are currently commissioned to perform diagnostic assessments only. This means we are not able to offer any therapy or support post-diagnosis. We can however signpost to useful services and resources, such as self-help information and local support, to help with psychological, lifestyle, behavioural, educational and occupational needs.
We also work with social and occupational services where appropriate, and offer training to other services and sectors to raise awareness of adult ASD.
Referral Information
Referrals can be made through your GP, we do not currently accept self-referrals.
Who is eligible?
To access this service, you must be at least 18 years of age. You must be registered to a GP within the North East Essex boundary. We also accept referrals for those who reside within the boundary and are not registered to any GP such as homeless people, people within the travelling community and refugees.
Please note, we are a service for those who are not open to/or in need of specialist mental health services. We offer training and advice to support colleagues to carry out autism assessments within specialist mental health services if needed.
